Conservation Divers Australia is founded by Jennifer Bloodworth, a science teacher and SCUBA instructor from the UK, and living and working in Australia since 2016.

“Teaching in mainstream schools was a fascinating place to be. I loved working with young people who were trying to learn who they are and what they wanted to do with their time. But, I met countless students whose lack of confidence or direction led to disengagement with the education system, affecting their classroom behavior, social interactions, and their general motivation for life.

I wanted to create a pathway for these students and all learners - one that ignites inquisitiveness, builds valuable skills, and equips them with tools for their future. Using my passion for SCUBA as the vehicle, I have crafted programs that connect students directly to the world they’re learning about; analysing the dynamic intricacies of an integral ecosystem which emphasises the significance of these underwater metropolises and why they are essential to the survival of the planet. Participants leave not only as certified divers, but as informed, empowered ocean stewards with qualifications and skill sets to help them protect what they now understand and value.

I believe curiosity is the first step to responsibility, so by creating interested, proactive young divers, we can grow the capacity of a generation to lead with confidence and shape a sustainable future. That’s the call to action I want to instill in our young people.
