Emergency First Response & CPR

The EFR course teaches primary and secondary care (First Aid and CPR) skills, equipping participants with the confidence and ability to respond to medical emergencies — both in diving and everyday life.

Key Learning Areas

  • Primary Care (CPR):

    • Scene assessment and safety

    • Checking responsiveness, breathing, and pulse

    • Performing CPR on adults, children, and infants

    • Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

    • Managing severe bleeding, shock, and spinal injuries

  • Secondary Care (First Aid):

    • Injury and illness assessment

    • Bandaging and wound management

    • Splinting for fractures and sprains

    • Treating burns, bites, and minor medical issues

Participants gain internationally recognised EFR certification, valid for 24 months.

Option available to obtain Nationally recognised Statements of Attainment for this course (HLTAID010, HLTAID011, HLTAID009).
